It Has Been A Long Battle – Davido Reacts As Supreme Court Affirms His Uncle’s Victory In Osun Election
Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, celebrates as The Supreme Court affirms his Uncle, Ademola Adeleke’s Victory in Osun State’s 2022 governorship election.
The singer, reacting to the judgement made on Tuesday, shared a screenshot of the breaking news via his Instagram story.
He wrote: ..It has been a long battle. Congratulations to the Osun people, it is indeed freedom time. The battle has been on for years but God has been with us. Congratulations to everyone! Gaadeleke_01
Vanguard reports that The Supreme Court, on Tuesday, affirmed Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as the validly elected Governor of Osun State.
The apex court, in its lead judgement that was delivered by Justice Emmanuel Agim, dismissed an appeal that was lodged against Adeleke’s election victory by the former governor of the state, Adegboyega Oyetola, who was the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
It held that though Oyetola alleged that Adeleke won through over-voting that occurred in 774 polling units in the state, he, however, failed to produce any Bimodal Voters Accreditation System, BVAS, a machine that was used in any of the polling units to prove his allegation.
