Aubameyang Responds To Arsenal Fans Who Booed Him At Emirates Stadium
There was no love between the Gunners and their former captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the Premier League clash between Arsenal and their London rival, Chelsea.
The erstwhile league leaders returned to winning ways at the Emirates in a derby that ended 3-1 in favor of the home side. The Gabonese striker spent four years with Arsenal before his unceremonious exit in January 2022 after an alleged fallout with Mikel Arteta.
Aubameyang was shipped to Laliga giants, Barcelona in winter transfer window after falling down the pecking order,
After just six months at Camp Nou, Auba sealed a stunning return to the Premier League with Arsenal’s London rivals, Chelsea.
And clearly, the move did not go down well with the Arsenal fanbase, with a section of supporters booing him on his return to the Emirates with the Blues on Tuesday night.
The Mirror reports that a portion of Arsenal fans wasted no time in shouting down the former Gunners captain during their huge match against Chelsea.
Aubameyang might have poked his former fanbase in the reverse fixture where he put out “it is not personal” statement on the match program in a game the blues lost.
Despite Mikel Arteta initially pleading with the home fans to accord their former starman a warm reception, it fell on deaf ears.
Auba was part of Chelsea’s starting XI but made little to no impact – leaving Frank Lampard with no choice but to substitute him at the break.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang responds to Instagram post about the fans reaction at the Emirates:
“You know sometimes people forget what’s the real life and forget about how you can’t control what’s happened.”
