Renowned Nigerian gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo‘s husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, has explained why he gifted his wife a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser on her 31st birthday.
Recall the newlywed celebrated her 31st birthday in style yesterday. The senior pastor of the Water Brooks Church broke the bank to make the surprise birthday gift memorable.
Going the extra mile to surprise Mercy Chinwo on her birthday, Pastor Blessed made a video without his wife’s consent stating that he wants to surprise her on her birthday this year because it’s her first birthday as Mrs. Blessed Chinwo.
“This is her first birthday as Mr. and Mrs. Blessed, and it means a lot to me and to her, so I had to take some time off work to come down to surprise her.”
While at the lobby of a hotel, the cleric noted that Mercy Chinwo is in the room, and the biggest task is to get her out because he wants to go present her with the luxury vehicle.
What could this gift be? Well, Pastor Blessed stated that if he could give her anything, he would give her the world, but if he does that, where would people live? Therefore, he converted the gift into a material thing to prove how much he loves her.
Getting Mercy Chinwo out of the room where they had been hosted over the weekend for her birthday, she appeared to be clueless and asked why she was being recorded by a camera.
Pastor Blessed replied to her, maintaining that he asked a camera man to do the video because he wanted her to share it on her YouTube.
She persuaded her husband to reveal to her what was going on, but proved he was a man of vehement character and hid under the aegis of going to eat in a Chinese restaurant near his friend’s house hitherto when they arrived at the venue where the car had been parked.
He maneuvered and tried to get her mind off believing that it was a huge surprise and finally achieved his aim of making Mercy Chinwo’s first birthday as Mrs. Blessed a memorable one by gifting her with a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser, worth over 35 million Naira.
The ‘Excess Love’ crooner began feeling emotional and broke down in tears after discovering it was her birthday gift. Her reaction after receiving the gift warmed the hearts of many and she couldn’t hold back her excitement as she continued to cry emotionally till just before going on the wheel to test the car.
She further took to her Instagram page to thank her husband for the surprise birthday gift, which was met with a plethora of positive reactions by netizens.
