Singer Davido has suggested that the next president bestow a national honour on himself and rapper, Olamide.
The issue was brought up by a fan who suggested in a now viral tweet that the two artists be honoured for their contributions to the Nigerian music industry.
“Davido and Olamide deserve national honours. Only the two of them have have singlehandedly created ‘sustained stars’ without godfather help [sic] and have made many millionaires,” the post read.
The ‘Stand Strong’ singer then reposted it on his Instagram Stories and tagged Olamide.
He wrote: “Next president gotta fix up @olamide.”
Davido and Olamide have been praised for discovering and nurturing a lot of successful artists through their respective record labels.
Olamide owns YBNL Records which is credited with kicking off the careers of Adekunle Gold, Fireboy DML, Asake. Lil Kesh, Fave, Chinko Ekun, Temmie Ovwasaand others.
