Pheelz and Davido Create Electricity But It May Not Power Much: Song Review
GENRE: Afropop
LABEL: Warner Records
Coming off Finesse, producer cum artiste Pheelz partners with Davido to create electricity.
In a twist of irony, where Nigeria’s electric workers shut down the country’s supply in protest, Pheels taps Davido who has been impressive on features this year to create electricity.
Pheelz coming off a very successful run with Finesse attempts to recreate the magic with another high profile artiste.
The duo do not exactly replicate the seamless chemistry of Pheelz and Buju on finesse, however, the song still works for what is it intended for.
Although the two-minute, twelve-second track gets largely repetitive, Davido injects life into the song with his signature type verse.
Overall, the song sounds good, and that is it. It does not offer anything outside the ordinary and its structure implies that it was intended that way.
Electricity was created alright, but just enough to power few light bulbs and perhaps a fan, very generator-like.
