Saliba Shines On Debut As Arsenal Pick Maximum Points In EPL Opener
FT: Crystal Palace 0 Arsenal 2
Mikel Arteta’s men have emerged victorious against a tricky Crystal Palace managed by Arsenal legend, Patrick Vieira at the Selhurst Park‘s Premier League opener on Friday night.
Arsenal looked the better team from kickoff with Martinelli going wide from a lose ball after new man, Gabriel Jesus breezed past two Palace defenders.
It was a straight-from-the-training-ground moment that gave the gunners an early lead as Martinelli, who’d missed a sitter earlier, headed home a well-worked free kick by the gunners.
Palace got into them after that and enjoyed lots of territory thanks to Andersen’s long diagonals. Ramsdale saved from Edouard and Eze, before that late own goal by Guehi killed the game.
Saliba was outstanding at the back in his debut for Arsenal since his purchase in 2019.
Arsenal hosts Leicester City in a premier league clash on August 13 2022.
