Burna Boy’s ‘Last Last’ Certified Silver In The United Kingdom
Nigerian superstar Burna Boy’s, Last Last, popularly touted as the song of the summer has been certified Silver in the United Kingdom after selling 200,000 units.
It is the latest in a string of accolades for the song which is a single off his latest studio album Love, Damini.
On Monday July 18 it debuted at number 86 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in the United States, becoming his highest charting single and his first ever entry on the chart as a lead artiste. It has since climbed up spots on the charts.
Adding to the song’s success and acclaim, on Tuesday, 26 July, 2022, the track received a received a presidential seal of approval when Barack Obama included it in his summer playlist for 2022. Other Nigerian songs that made the cut, includes ‘Feeling’ by Pheelz ft Buju and ‘Vibe Out’ by Tems.
It’s not the first taste of success in the United Kingdom for the Grammy winner, in fact, in September 2020 he became the first Nigerian artist to earn a silver certification with his album ‘African Giant’ which would eventually go on to earn a gold certification.
