The song earned Burna Boy his first solo entry in the Billboard Hot 100 and he joins Wizkid, Ckay, Tems and Fireboy DML as Nigerian artistes who have debuted on the chart.
Enisa has never hidden her love for Nigeria and Afrobeats. The New York-born star frequently interacts with her Nigerian fans on Twitter and even jokingly adopted a Nigerian name, ‘Eniola’ in December 2020.
She also joined other international celebrities to speak out against police brutality during the October 2020 #ENDSARS protests, tweeting, ‘I stand with you Nigeria GOD is with you all #EndPoliceBrutality #EndSARS #EndSarsNow
Shortly after, she revealed that she had reaped the benefits of her support for Nigerian youths, confirming that they have been streaming her songs even more after she spoke out.
“ONE MILLION VIEWS1 week BABY. I never had this happen so fast on a song before, especially since this was an independent release, NO big push or paid promo, just you & me spreading the word. Thank you guys for believing in this song as much as I have, Love you forever,” she wrote.
The model then reached out to Davido on the same platform to request a collaboration and he accepted.
The song, Love Cycle remix, was released in October 2021.
