I Added Weight To Look Older Than My Husband In Blood Sisters – Kehinde Bankole


Nollywood actress, Kehinde Bankole has disclosed that she added weight in order to pull off her character in Blood Sisters Netflix Series.

The sterling actress made it known that the decision to gain more weight was a personal character goal for her as she wanted Olayinka to “look much older, fatter & definitely more domineering than Femi, her husband played by Gabriel Afolayan in the trending Nollywood series.

Kehinde Bankole also noted that she’s gradually losing the gained weight she accrued during the production of the series.

She wrote:

Fitting day weight Vs Final shoot weight.
A main personal character goal for me was for yinka to look much older than femi, fatter & definitely more domineering. Thanks to the guidance of the directors @kennethgyang & @biyibandele . Losing it back gradually #BloodSistersNetflix

Kehinde, however, isn’t the only actor to have had a personal touch to her character in the much acclaimed Blood Sisters Series. Co-star, Deyemi Okanlawon also noted that his character (Kola) had a toll on his mental health months after production of the series.

Taking to social media, the movie star said “Kola Ademola definitely affected me more than I care to admit and it took months to get to a semblance of normalcy.”
