Just over the weekend, the consortium of American billionaire investor and co-owner of Major League Baseball’s (MLB) Los Angeles Dodgers, Todd Boehly purchased Chelsea Football Club in a deal of £4.25bn, Evening Standard reports.
The 46-year-old is the new owner Premier League side following the completion of the lingering takeover, replacing the club’s erstwhile owner, Roman Abramovich.
In a statement via the club’s official website, the European Champions on Saturday, May 7, 2022 maintained that they have agreed to new ownership led by the American billionaire Todd Boehly. According to the west London club statement on her website;
Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed for a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjoerg Wyss, to acquire the Club.
The sale is expected to complete in late May subject to all necessary regulatory approvals. More details will be provided at that time.

Todd Boehly is a familiar face in the American sports and movie industries. He became Chelsea‘s new owner on May 7, 2022.
