RMD, Annie Idibia, More Celebrities Express Regret For Missing Rita Dominic’s Wedding
Reports on a number of media outlets had it that notable faces in the Nigerian entertainment industry missed and failed to acknowledge Nollywood diva Rita Dominic on her big day.
Burbles Media had earlier reported that celebrities such as Genevieve Nnaji, Tonto Dikeh, Funke Akindele-Bello, Shola Sobowale, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, Moyo Lawal, Ada Ameh, and others were reportedly absent from the wedding.
On Friday, more celebrities including Richard Mofe Damijo RMD and Annie Macaulay have also stepped forward to explain why they missed the glamourous two-day ceremony that had the likes of Chidi Mokeme, Kate Henshaw, Joke Silva, Ini Edo and many others.

Nigerians while celebrating Rita’s marriage, queried the absence of some Nollywood stars like Genevieve Nnaji, RMD and Mercy Johnson. RMD in response, noted that he would have loved to grace the ‘epic event’.
His post read: “Congratulations my beautiful Riri @ritadominic. I would have loved to grace this epic event but I’m far far away.
“Here is a toast to your beautiful union. God bless your marriage.”
Actress, Annie Idibia also noted that she is gutted for missing Rita and Fidelis Anosike’s marriage.
The 37-year-old missed the traditional wedding of Rita and Fidelis Anosike in Aboh Mbaise, Imo State on Tuesday.
Expressing her sadness over her absence from the event, Annie Idibia in an Instagram post on Friday wrote, “Chai ! E pain me sey we miss your very special day”.
In her congratulatory message to the 46-year-old, Annie recounted her first encounter with the new bride, she described Rita as soft-spoken and beautiful.
The mother of two also prayed for happiness in Rita’s marriage. She wrote in parts:
“Big Aunt @ritadominic Don’t know how to start … Heaven Knows I have admired This Impeccable Woman for so many years… for so long ….first time I met you. I was shaking like a leaf about to drop off from a tree … u Were filming somewhere in Ikeja back then I came to interview u on set, was working on my first tv show * ( not sure if remember that girl was me ) I was so nervous.
“So soft-spoken .. so beautiful (pics or videos don’t even do justice) skin like the Shiniest glass ever, smile so beautiful!
If Rita Dominic is in that movie .. u gotta buy it n watch it! She is an effortlessly incredible Actorwhen I see a new poster ( back in d days, new movie poster was always all over the walls on the streets of Lagos).
