According to a report fast making the rounds on social media, a 10-year-old girl was sexually molested by her classmates while they represented a school competition in Dubai.
The story shared by music executive cum blogger, Ubi Franklin has garnered wild attention from Nigerians on Twitter. According to Ubi, the incident happened while a group of students from Chrisland Schools, Victoria Garden City represented the elite high school at the World School Games in Dubai between March 10-13, 2022.
The school was celebrated for carrying out an impressive display and winning about 34 medals in the competition, People’s Gazette reports.
Ubi taking to Twitter wrote:
Just got off the phone with a friend of mine
His 10-year-old daughter was selected to represent her school at the World School Games in Dubai. His daughter was r**ped by fellow students, video tapped and posted on Instagram and the school concealed it for a month.
He found out on his own when another parent called his wife and showed his wife the video of his 10-year-old daughter being circulated on Instagram. I have spent the last 1hour listening to confessional statements by some teachers and I am begging this should rather be a dream.
Victim’s Mother Narrates Ordeal
A follow-up post by Ubi Franklin shows the mother’s account of her child’s rape allegations. In the video, the distraught mother mustered the strength to narrate how her daughter was defiled under the watch of Chrisland School Management
She recounted the stern warning given to her daughter after the Dubai trip. The school’s headteacher in the person of Mrs. Azike called the pupil’s mother to chide her for kissing male classmates.
The girl’s mother also narrated how the school allegedly tried to cover up a leaked video of her daughter’s molestation. She noted that a concerned parent called her attention to the video that has gone viral in the school community.
“Everyone had seen it, parents and teachers too but we were left in the dark and the school was bullying my daughter without my consent.” The dreary mother disclosed.
Chrisland Schools got on the peg for allegedly carrying out a pregnancy test on a 10-year-old girl without her parents’ consent.
“They told her not to talk, they threatened to kill her if she tells me, I was forcing my daughter to school every day, not knowing she was being bullied by them”
