Mavin label boss, Micheal Collins, better known as Don Jazzy has signed budding singer, Ugbekile David Osameke, otherwise known as Boy Spyce.

Boy Spyce went viral last year for his sonorous rendition in a cover version of Wizkid’s Essence.

The talented singer also dropped series of freestyles via his social media pages which garnered quite a handful of engagement that got the attention of the Mavin Records boss.

Announcing his new signee via an unveiling video on his official Twitter page and Instagram page. Don Jazzy wrote:

“Being a tunnel with which a talent is being nurtured is a blessing I would never take for granted. After being trained in the Mavin academy by the best in the game, world say hello to the newest addition to the @mavinrecords family @boyspyce.

MAVIN ACTIVATED.”

Boy Spyce was born Ugbekile David Osameke in Lagos Nigeria, an indigene of the historically rich Benin city in Edo state. Boy Spyce is a mix of a wise old spirit in the body of a 20-year-old and an unapologetic self-aware young lad.

His introduction to music came through his older brother who was in a boyband at the time. Watching him come up with melodies, going to the studio and rehearse with his other band members was quite fascinating which made Spyce start writing songs.

Boy Spyce became an internet sensation through song covers using his unmistakably unique voice and reflective lyrics.
His goal as an artist is to make songs for every emotion a person could possibly feel, he wants his songs to be the soothing balm at every point in time for everyone who comes across his music.
