Nigerian celebrities have made sure to sow all of their wild oats before settling down. And while some couples are no longer an item, all of these duos waited until after they turned ate 30s or 40 to say “I do” for the first or second time. Keep reading to see who was very patient when it came to the rest of their lives, then check out all the celebrity couples who are set to tie the knot this year

1. D’banj

Nigerian iconic singer, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj got married to Lineo Didi Kilgrow in 2016. Kokomaster had all the fun during his heydays before deciding to get married to one woman at the age of 36.

Their marriage of seven years has produced two children with the couple losing their first child in a domestic accident. Dbanj and his wife welcomed another child in 2021 and they have lived happily ever after since then.

2. 2baba

Nigeria music veteran, Innocent Idibia, otherwise known as 2baba had quite a time before he got married at 36. His affairs with different women would have outshined his career had he not been on top of his game all along.

2baba got married to his wife, Annie Idibia in an elaborate destination wedding in 2015 but the ghost of his previous lifestyle still haunts their marriage to date.

In a recent reality TV show, Annie lamented how she will never adjust to the realities of her husband having baby mamas and more kids out of wedlock than they have together.

3. Mr. Ibu

Nollywood comic star, John Okafor, more popularly known as Mr. Ibu may have finally got it right in marriage after his third trial.

After attempting marriage twice, the comic actor got married to his current wife, Stella Maris Okafor in 2015 while he was 54 years old. detailing how his first and second marriage went down:

 My first and second marriages failed; they (my wives) left me after having a child each for me. I wondered what made them make such decisions and they made me know that it was because I didn’t have money. This made me know that I have to be able to keep my family and provide for them and make sure that they are satisfied and not have any reason to look down on me.

4. Ada Ameh

Off the pain of losing a child, a Nollywood actress found succor in a man. Ada Ameh lost her only child during the pandemic in 2020 and the heartwrenching moment did not stop her from finding love at 47.

Although not married yet, her relationship appears to be waxing strong.

5. Rita Dominic

The latest on our list is sterling Nollywood actress and producer, Rita Dominic, who will tie the knot on the 17th and 18th of this month.

The 46-year-old is getting married to Daily Trust publisher, Fidelis Anosike in Imo State and you can only expect pomp and pageantry from what may turn out to be the celebrity wedding of the year.
