Hollywood movie star Will Smith has tendered a public apology to his colleague Chris Rock for striking the hell out of him for cracking a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith.
Burbles Media had earlier reported that Will Smith stormed the stage during 2022 Academy Awards ceremony and struck Chris Rock in the face.
The unforgettable highlight occurred while Rock made a comparison between Jada Pinkett-Smith’s bald head and Demi Moore’s appearance in the film “G.I. Jane” and suggested that Jada might feature in a sequel.
While tendering an apology to the public for his misconduct and inability to defy the pain of Chris’s humour with his wife’s condition, Will Smith maintained that violence in any form is poisonous and destructive. Speaking while he took that action, he added that jokes about his wife’s medical condition were unacceptable and too much for him to bear, which is why he overacted emotionally.
Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear, and I reacted emotionally.
Apologizing to Chris for his action and speaking on the negative side of violence, he added,
I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I wanted to be. There is no place for sense in a world of love and kindness.
Will Smith also rendered a public apology to the award academy, the organizers of the show, all the attendees, and everyone watching around the world, asserting that he regretted his action.
