Late Nigerian Celebrities We Wish Were Still Alive Today
Adenrele Edun’s explosive interview detailing ‘intimate’ moments with his married former bestie and late singer, Goldie Harvey has sparked negative reactions from Nigerians.
According to Denrele, he and Gold had some secret moments during their camaraderie. He however did not explicitly talk about the nature of their intimacy but his statement suggests an affair between the pair.
He said: “My beautiful late friend Goldie, many people thought we were friends, but we did have a few intimate moments. So I was my driving force. I knew she was married, we kept the secret, but we had something more than friendship. We entered the corner, so I was committed to seeing her shine.
These statements that have put Denrele in a negative light have also sprung up a feeling of nostalgia that has made Nigerians wish Goldie was alive to defend her bestie’s wild allegations.
As such, we will take a look at late celebrities who would have made an impact in today’s reality if they were still alive.
Goldie
Susan Oluwabimpe Filani otherwise known as Goldie Harvey died 14 February 2013 after suffering a heart attack. In her heydays, Goldie won several African music awards including a Top Naija Music Award. She appeared on Big Brother Africa in 2012 which was her first TV appearance. She and Kenyan rapper Prezzo, another BBA housemate, appeared to have a close relationship on the show.
Had Goldie been alive today, she would have been an industry veteran ahead of Tiwa Savage, Yemi ALade and more. This is no way an attempt to smear the good works of the above-mentioned. Many Nigerians while reacting to Denrele’s comments wished Gold was alive to defend herself. And boy oh boy, she was a feisty one, Denrele would have been in for a treat

Dagrin
Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun died tragically at the tender age of 26. News of his death on the morning of 22 April 2010 got music fans in a feeling they held on to for so long.
The indigenous rap artist is a pioneer of the genre that set the path for acts like of Olamide, Small Docto and most notably, Portable. In his short but successful career, Dagrin released numerous songs that went on to break the charts even after his death.
The argument for what he could have done had he been alive today might hit some nerves in the YBNL camp.
Davido’s Mother -Veronica Adeleke
Davido’s mom is arguably the most popular celebrity despite her demise long before her son became a star. According to multiple reports, the billionaire wife died of cardiac arrest on her husband’s birthday.
Davido on the other hand has done well enough to immortalise his mother’s name. He never stops gushing about her memories and how life would have been different for him had she been alive today.
In order not to bore you out, we may not be able to cover this inexhaustible list. Please do well to add your favorite celebrities you wish were still alive in the comments section.
