Interview: Wizkid addresses alleged beef with industry mates
Afrobeats heavyweight, Ayodeji Balogun, professionally known as Wizkid has finally made public comments on the perceived beef between him and contemporaries in the Nigerian music industry.
Granting an interview on Los Angeles commercial station 92.3’s hip-hop show, The Real After Party, the award-winning singer noted that he evades any form of squabble or beef with his colleagues.
Bootleg Kev, who co-hosts the show with DJ Damage, asked the ‘Essence’ crooner if he has ever gotten into a rap beef or any music-related squabble with other artistes. Reacting, Wizkid said he does not believe in beef, so he doesn’t do such.

Right after dismissing reports of him getting into any beef, Wizkid talked about the music preference and favorite artistes by the Nigerian audience and he did stop without shading fellow star, Davido.

Burbles Media observed that Wizkid easily missed out on his arch-rival’s name, Davido from the list of top Nigerian musicians who rock the Nigerian soundscape.
Wizkid skipping Davido’s name can’t be overlooked as the relationship between the two music stars have oscillated from cold vendetta to public display of affection towards one another over the years.
Speaking highly of his Nigerian compatriots, Wizkid noted that Nigeria is a confluence point for music as Nigerian listeners vibe with foreign sounds as well as Afrobeats and other local genres of music.
