Russia Targets Biden and Clinton, Ignores Trump and Obama
As a form of retaliation against the sanctions imposed on Russia by the United States and the European Union, the East European country has responded by issuing a stop list against members of Biden administration and other prominent Americans.
The Russian Administration through its foreign ministry explained its position in a statement. They stated
“This step, taken as a response measure, is the inevitable result of the extreme Russophobic policy of the current US Administration, which, in a desperate attempt to maintain American hegemony, has abandoned any sense of decorum and placed its bets on the head-on containment of Russia,”

The list includes President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, national security adviser Jake Sullivan, CIA Director William Burns, press secretary Jen Psaki, deputy national security adviser Daleep Singh, USAID Administrator Samantha Power, Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo and U.S. Export-Import Bank President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis, Hillary Clinton, Hunter Biden, among others.
Conspicuously absent from the sanctions from Russia are former Presidents, Barack Obama and Donald Trump.
People on the Stop List seem not to be losing sleep over the sanctions. Hillary Clinton jokingly responded on Twitter, writing, “I want to thank the Russian Academy for this Lifetime Achievement Award.”

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, mocked the list by stating,
‘none of us are planning tourist trips to Russia and none of us have bank accounts that we won’t be able to access, so we will forge ahead.’
Russia is also directing its gaze to Canada as it also said on Tuesday that it was dropping sanctions on top Canadian officials, including its Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and lawmakers.
Economists opine that this set of sanctions from Russia is a desperate reaction to the economic pangs occasioned by the numerous sanctions. Economists further opine that the sanctions will probably lead to a recession.
